Workshop One

The first workshop is six days long and focuses on discipleship, God Centered Small Groups, and basic HIV/AIDS education. Delegates learn the skills involved in creating effective small groups and they participate in small group Bible-study. They also learn about the transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS. As delegates work together, they discover best practices for small group facilitation and interaction while accomplishing group tasks.

Following Workshop One, delegates return to their Parish to facilitate the formation of a small group in their community. They transfer the knowledge and skills that they have gained at the workshop to the newly formed small group. This small group then becomes a training resource for the entire Parish. Once skilled in the formation and practice of small groups, the Parish can form small groups for multiple purposes including discipleship, Bible-study, AIDS education, and church projects.
