This study introduces TEAM’s scriptural foundation, and begins to connect the bible they have read for years to HIV/AIDS and the suffering and injustice in their communities. It prepares the delegate for the workshop through personal Bible studies addressing AIDS-related issues such as suffering, injustice, shame, sickness, healing, hope, prayer, discipleship, and new life in Christ. The Pre-Course Self-Study also includes a community assessment project so that the delegate arrives at the workshop aware of how HIV/AIDS is affecting his or her community.
